This was a day to remember

Today was a really funny day! [its quite a long, long funny day]

We went mini-golfing today, that wasn't quite what we expected. The novelty of mini-golfing wore off after the 3rd hole, when we realised that the venue was quite dodgy. Not only most of the holes uphill [which means the ball rolls downwards], but the nice little river and waterfall was a breeding ground for mozzies. I think we all lost some blood today. haha. So people, think before you go to "Golfmania" in Manly, you may just end up a bit of a maniac.

Despite this, things were really fanatastic. We were able to do something really special for Hanh's 21st birthday [although it may be a little late]. Clare made a cake in the shape of a 2 and a 1 and it was a really sweet guesture. The expression on Hanh's face when she realised what was in the esky was really nice to witness. And we were able to give her the present we had bought earlier...she really loved it. She actually wore the "21" badge we got her. It was a bit of a shame that Jill couldn't make it because of her job interview but we totally understand. Although surprisingly Tamie and Lara made it, its always been somewhat difficult to organise something with most of us.

So after golfing, things were, i think that was the idea supposed to end on a relaxing day at the beach. Oh were we wrong. Things started great, we left golfmania and looked for the beach, we found it! But then on our way to find a takeaway store, Lara notices that Hanh has a flat tyre. And that's when our experience began...

Hanh went over to ask some guys for the nearest servo...of course we couldnt find it [well hanh and myself]. Thankfully Clare, Laura and Lara were following behind. Although it seemed a bit late to save us from the embaarrassment from asking construction workers for direction. But it was a funny, "oh why couldnt we see it"kind of embarrassment. When we got to the BP, which looked more like an old house [i have pictures on my phone but cant get it on yet, so you'l have to wait]...the servo man didnt really help us. We spent five minutes trying to work out how to pump the tyre. It was a funny sight. Five confused law students, may i add four with cars. The servo guy eventually came out of the house, he told us the tyre is deflated. Ummm yeah, that was pretty apparent. But Hanh being funny, says in a really ditzy voice "um, what does that mean"...we absolutely cracked up. She was really freaking out and kept asking, "what do i do?". The servo "guy with the plait"came to the conclusion that the tyre was fine and that there was something wrong with the vaulve...he suggested we drive over to Bridgestone at wynym. To make matters worst, Hanh's spare was not the right size so the idea of just putting in a spare didnt quite work. We hesitated, Hanh called RACQ but they only offered to tow her car - how was that going to help? So we did as he said, we went to Bridgestone. But first we needed to get the tyre off. Clare seemed to have an elementary knowledge of how to change a tyre. She only managed to get the hub cap off though. The servo guy ended up getting the actual tyre off. So we drove off to wynym. We got to bridgestone and they came out and told us that in fact the tyre was screwed up [well not quite their words]. You could see them laughing at us, five girls with absolutely no clue walking into their store...one of the guys let us clean the grease off our hands...and was able to slip in a bit of a joke. "How many of you did it take to get the tyre"...hahaha...funny guy ;). Ummm some of us carried the bolts and tools...haha, no one said that but that was the truth. We were able to laugh about the whole thing, being in "woop, woop"and Hanh having her birthday celebration and then her having a flat...a great combination for a great day. I'm sure the servo guy and the guys at Bridgestone had a bit of a laugh too.

So we got the tyre on, an hour and a half after discovering the flat. And eventually we got our fish and chips and weiss bars. I would say it was all in all a great adventure and one that we could not plan. An experience that we will remember.

I shall post photos of this adventure when i get them off Laura...
